Vaccination Certificates at Arvida Good Friends

When the new “traffic light” system comes in later this year, you will need your vaccination certificate to use all Arvida Good Friends services and to visit the Living Well Centre. On Wednesdays and Saturdays, the Digikiwis are at the Living Well Centre to help you organise your vaccination pass.

As you know, the Government has announced a new COVID-19 Protection Framework which will adopt a "traffic light" approach to managing COVID-19. When it comes in, in order to legally operate, most businesses will require vaccination certificates from customers. Arvida Good Friends is one of them.

This means that when we move to the new system (possibly in early December), you will only be able to use our services or visit the Living Well Community Centre if you are fully vaccinated against Covid-19 and have a valid vaccination certificate. If you have chosen not to be vaccinated, we respect that, and unfortunately, you won’t be able to use our services.

We all care deeply about your wellbeing. Everyone who works for Arvida Good Friends is fully vaccinated and vaccination is a condition of our employment. However, we do realise that for you, the choice whether or not to get vaccinated against Covid-19 is a personal one.

What to expect

Nothing is changing right now. Until the traffic light system comes into play, we are working under Alert Level 2 guidelines as usual.

However, from whichever date the COVID-19 Protection Framework goes live in Canterbury, you will need to be fully vaccinated if you wish to use the Living Well Community Centre, Good Friends Go transport or our Home Services.

Under the traffic light system, we will need you to show your vaccination certificate and photo id to us. We will talk to you beforehand about exactly how this will work and we will support you as we all get used to it when it starts.

What you can do to be ready and how we can help

We can help you get your vaccination certificate set up

Our partners Digikiwis are young, patient, digital mentors who can help you set everything up with a digital health identity and vaccination certificate. They are at the Living Well Centre every Saturday at 10am and on Wednesdays at 11am as well. Please book online or talk to Alex in the Centre/ring her on 0800 20 41 20 to register your interest in special vaccination certificate workshops during weekdays.

If you’ve chosen not to be vaccinated, cancelling your membership is simple and we won’t ask any questions

If you have decided not to be vaccinated against Covid-19, unfortunately you won’t be able to access our services under the new framework and you will want to cancel your membership with us. It’s simple. Please just let us know in writing by sending us an email. as soon as possible and we will organise this for you - no questions asked. The usual two weeks’ notice applies and you will be able to continue to use our services until the new traffic light framework goes live.

If you have questions or concerns about this change that you’d like to discuss
